Twice nominated for Independent Spirit Awards as well as for a Primetime Emmy and NAACP Image Award, Jason Orans is an active producer of docuseries, documentary and scripted films. His latest projects are the Oscar shortlisted doc IF DREAMS WERE LIGHTNING directed by Ramin Bahrani; MAFIA TAPES, an 8-episode podcast series for ID; CHARM CIRCLE, International Documentary Association shortlist for Best Feature. Other recent releases include Boaz Yakin's thriller BOARDING SCHOOL, Ramin Bahrani's BLOOD KIN (Venice Film Festival), and the docs FRANK SERPICO and NIGHT SCHOOL. Prior films include Emmy nominated THE GREAT INVISIBLE, NIGHT CATCHES US starring Anthony Mackie and Kerry Washington; DARE starring Emmy Rossum and Rooney Mara; and Ramin Bahrani's GOODBYE SOLO and Plastic Bag. Currently, Orans is in production on a documentary about legendary African American music producer Tom Wilson (Bob Dylan, Simon & Garfunkel, Velvet Underground).
