For the past decade, Joshua Zeman has been exploring his own unique brand of “real-life horror.” His critically acclaimed horror documentary CROPSEY, a critic’s pick with The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times and Roger Ebert, was called “one of the year’s best documentaries” and “one of the scariest films of the year” in 2011. Off the success of CROPSEY, Zeman created the anthology documentary, KILLER LEGENDS, which examines true crimes that have inspired our scariest urban legends. Premiering on the CHILLER network, KILLER LEGENDS went on to become the #1 downloaded documentary and horror film on iTunes in July of 2014. Most recently Zeman executive produced and directed THE KILLING SEASON for A&E, an unscripted docu-series also executive produced by Jigsaw Productions and Academy Award-winning director Alex Gibney (Going Clear: Scientology and the Prison of Belief, Taxi to the Dark Side). THE KILLING SEASON follows Zeman and filmmaker Rachel Mills as they delve into the terrifying connections between five unsolved serial killer cases, all involving sex workers. Zeman’s producer/co-producer credits include THE STATION AGENT, MYSTERIOUS SKIN, THE HAWK IS DYING, CHOKING MAN, AGAINST THE CURRENT, and CEREMONY.
